Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Thamarrurr Catholic School is situated at Wadeye (Port Keats) in the Thamarrurr Region of the Northern Territory, 400km south-west of Darwin.
Built in 1935 as part of a Catholic mission, the school has grown substantially over the last decade with the development of a secondary campus, new library and science block and a refurbishment of the trade training centre and kitchen. The school caters for students from preschool to year 12.
DDR was engaged to replace the existing school roof, which had come to the end of its servicable life and was beginning to leak.
The scope of works included the removal of the old iron sheeting, batten inspection, replacement of deteriorated battens as required and the installation of new iron sheeting.
Highlights
